Shalimar Garden
Set up by Emperor Jehangir in 1616AD for his wife Nur Jahan, Shalimar Garden spans over an area of about 539m by 182m where every onlooker is driven to a realm of pictorial beauty.Also known as the 'garden of love', this lovely garden presents impressive views of beautiful lakes, shallow terraces and other lovely gardens.The garden is finely woven with myriads of scented flowers, number of fountains and dense trees .
Nishat Garden
Nishat Garden or the 'garden of bliss' sitting on the banks of the charming Dal Lake is one of the largest gardens in Kashmir. Designed by Asaf Khan in 1633AD, the garden set against the backdrop of the Zabarwan Mountains offers splendid view of the snow-covered mountain ranges of Pir Panjal. The blooming flowerbeds, fascinating fountains, shaded trees create a picturesque setting. Shopping facilities are also available for the tourists here.
